Web design is the skill of creating presentations of content in a way that it is well interpreted by the end user. It requires a good understanding of Usability, Problem Solving as well as Graphic Design. Web design is the ability to transform a collection of documents using elements such as HTML, XHTML, XML, JPG, GIF, FLASH, etc. into a web site.
Typically web sites are classified as static or dynamic:
* Static web sites don’t change content and layout with every request unless a web master or programmer manually modifies a page. A simple HTML page is an example of static content.
* Dynamic pages adapt their content and/or appearance depending on end-user’s input/interaction or changes in the computing environment (user, time, database modifications, etc.)
